Circular Polariser

I went to Thrigby Hall a few weeks ago, and inside, they have a swamp house where they have crocodiles. I thought this threw up the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how a circular polariser works. The first image is without the filter on the front. The second image is exactly the same, same conditions, taken just after the first, but with the polariser on full effect. I love filters, I use my polariser and ND Grad filters quite a bit, it's always great when they pay off too. People quite often revert to Photoshop to add effects, I'd love to see someone replicate the effect a polariser can on reflections in water!

Canon EF 28mm f2.8

I got a copy of a Canon EF 28mm f2.8 for my 500d this weekend, so took it out and about to see how it was (it was purchased second hand, so you never know what it will be like). My cat's are very poor at posing for pictures, they're not really fans of me sticking a camera in their face, this little fella didn't seem to mind as I photographed him crawling his way up our hill though. Very nice lens, more comfortable to use as a walkaround prime lens on a cropped sensor comparted to the "nifty-fifty" I own. Still worked very well, considering I looked up the manufactures code to see when it was made, and happened to be 1988!

Tilt Shift Mundesley

Visited Mundesley Beach yesterday, glorious day. With a packed beach, I thought it would be a good idea to try out some tilt shift work.
