Jermy Family History

Me and Heather went for a day out today - we knew there was a grave for my great great grandfather in a church in Hoveton, only 10 miles north of Norwich, so we went to visit. There's also a memorial for Albert and Arthur Jermy, who were my great great uncles, who died during WWI (and who my grandad and great uncle were named after).

My great great grandfather (Frederick Jermy) was a shepherd to the sheep out the back of Hoveton church, at Hoveton Hall, as well as gardener.

  1. Very interesting and impressive family background Nick. Heathers ancestors were interesting as well - moonshiners and gun runners! The only creatures ever herded by a Lindsay, were chickens. And they don't herd very well!

  2. This is really interesting! I wish my family lineage was easier to follow... We've been Americans for so long it's really difficult to trace back to the UK. I think my family had something to do with the settling of Massachusetts though! :)
